Ganesh Mantra

 Lisää ostoskoriin

mantramusiikki,

Ganesh is the deity who removes all obstacles, and is usually seen in the form of the elephant. These chants delve into this particular realm, and are often recited before any new and significant beginnings to remove any hindrances and to reward our endeavors with success. The principal singer is Sanjeev Abhyankar, with music by Kedar Pandit, and again the prayers and mantras are specific to this one renowned deity, as the 108 names of Ganesh are sung, as well as 'Ganesh Gayitri' and 'Ganesh Mahamantra'. Reverence for the traditional and sacred source of these words comes through ever so strongly both in the traditional music accompaniment and the sound of the voices. Produced and recorded in India by Times Music - India.

Gayatri Mantra

 Lisää ostoskoriin

mantramusiikki,

This is the culmination of the "Authentic Mantras" series, and even includes a short explanation of the Gayatri Mantra, thought to be the most ancient and powerful of all mantras known to mankind. The album begins with the invocation of Gayatri, the personified Mother of the Vedas. The Pranayam Mantra follows, used for control of one's breathing and to connect with the Sun's energy. After the explanation, the seed sound "Om" is chanted three times to welcome the divine power. The Gayatri Mantra is then chanted in chorus 108 times. The album then ends with a prayer, thus fulfilling the three stages of the bhakti or devotion: visualization, meditation and prayer. Produced and recorded in India by Times Music - India this CD features Rattan Sharma with his beautiful voice.

Mantras for Pregnacy

mantramusiikki,

Advise

The pregnant woman should get up early in the morning and look at the rising sun. She should practice yoga and meditation and chant 'aum'. Every morning and evening special prayers and rituals can be performed.

There should always be good music: mantras, the sound of the veena, flute, vocal chants and healing music. Read and listen to encouraging stories and biographies and look at good pictures.

It is advised that pregnant women should avoid looking at the setting sun and the waning moon. She should look into deep wells and at high waterfalls and should not look at snakes or scenes which will produce fear. Excitement, anger, excessive laughter, smoking, things which have always been disliked and suppressing natural urges should be avoided.

Healing Music

Healing music is much more than just singing devotional songs or mantras. These scientifically designed compositions are beautifully interwoven with texts and mantras. The vibrations of the music works on your breathing patterns, bio-energy systems, moods and your hormonal system.

Since ancient times it has been known that the child in the womb is open for impressions from its surroundings and the behaviour of its mother. It already starts learning. The surrounding environment (the food, the activities, in fact everything the mother is exposed to during pregnancy) affects the child. The ancient scriptures and ayurveda prescribe a particular daily practice for pregnant women. Along with prescriptions for diet, yoga and routine body care, instructions are also given for reading material, subjects of discussion, and music and mantras to listen to. The sound of Samaveda mantras, the veena (Indian string instrument which is held by the goddess Saraswati), and the flute is healthy for the mother-to-be and the child within.

It is possible to support the development of body, mind and soul of the child in the womb by listening to this special music.

Anahata: Chants & Mantras of the World

 Lisää ostoskoriin

mantramusiikki,

Anahata is the Sanskrit name for the heart centre and it reflects the ability to sing from the heart. What does this mean? The heart centre reflects loving kindness and the ability to commit to a projector of a relationship. As a group, ANAHATA really began at a spiritual centre called the Salisbury Centre where Peter, Wendy and Clare met in a tipi - in the heart of the city of Edinburgh - to sing sacred music.

"Originally we mainly sang native american songs and during that time we became friends, years later after having a lot of fun singing we thought it would be a good idea to put this on an album we agreed that it would be fun to sing some of our favourite sacred world music and put it on an album there is an equal amount of each of our favourite songs. As friends and lovers of world music it was a flowing process to put this album together"

Clare is a qualified yoga teacher. "Part of my contribution to the group has been the fine-tuning of the body through Asanas to develop the sound that resonates from the heart."

"I hope the listeners will enjoy the music but also that it unites them to their spiritual self. I hope that it will be relaxing but also will give an idea that all world religions are equally important paths to enlightenment or awakening. Also that music is open to everyone as a journey of spiritual connection to the source whatever name we have for that."

Wendy teaches bel canto. Bel canto means 'beautiful singing'. It is a term used to describe all Italian singing, but in particular the light, bright quality that Italian opera singers use to charm audiences.

Peter teaches two tone throat singing from Tuva. "For the listener we are hoping to create a mood of warm relaxation and diverse cultural fusion through the music and varied instruments from harp to harmonium, drums and soaring vocal harmonies."

mantramusiikki, meditaatiomusiikki,

A Chant Album from the Sacred Writings of the Sikhs to experience Love.

Prem means the experience of love, deep love. It is the love that you have the courage and wisdom to feel in yourself for yourself, it is the love that God feels for you.

We project ourselves through every moment of time and space whether it is through sounds, thoughts, or feelings. The gift of every human being is to truly express the soul through the intelligence of the mind and body. Often times however we are burdened with so many expectations and desires of what we should be that we cannot truly express who we are. If you take a 60 second period and just watch your mind you will observe a cycle of experience that is identical to a longer cycle of experience over a day, a month, a year, a lifetime. It doesn?t matter how long you observe your mind; it is what it is. We cycle through receiving information, processing it, and then projecting out our reality through the medium of sound, thought, or feeling.

Snatam Kaur: Shanti

 Lisää ostoskoriin

mantramusiikki, vocal, intialainen musiikki,

Fusing the spiritual richness and beauty of ancient Sikh chants--written by late 15th-century composer Guru Nanak (the first guru of the Sikhs)--with lush, contemporary Enya-esque production values, Snatam Kaur Khalsa's music is both spiritually enriching and moving, within a pop-music framework. It's a style not unlike Natalie Merchant or Sarah McLachlan, but it is rooted in more ancient traditions. This is the follow-up to Kaur Khalsa's premiere album, PREM, and features more of that work's elegant, simple compositions.

Kaur's haunting voice answers herself in the chorus creating a hypnotizing, soothing, repetitive mantra-folk sound, over a rich accompaniment of tablas, acoustic guitar, warm gushing synth pads, and piano. In addition to its soothing meditative qualities, this album is also the perfect choice for relaxing by the pool, or slow dancing by a late night fire.

Liner Note Author: Snatam Kaur. Recording information: Zen Den, Los Angeles, CA. Photographer: Andrea Marino. Arranger: Thomas Barquee. Personnel: Snatam Kaur (vocals, harmonium); Thomas Barquee (vocals, harmonium, keyboards); Zoran Todorovic (guitar); Aloke Dasgupta (sitar); Therese Wagner (flute); Domonic Dean Breaux (woodwinds); Satnam Ramgotra (tabla); Kevin Ricard (percussion).
