Zhang Chang Wang: Tie terveyteen ja hyvinvointiin

tai chi,

Menetelmässä luotetaan kehon viisauteen hoitaa itseään parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla. Yi Quan (lausutaan suomalaisittain "ii tsuan") voidaan vapaasti kääntää "mielen nyrkkeilyksi".

Chi Kung: Reclaim your Power is a major reassessment of the ancient teaching of Chi Kung and updates its basic principles to make them more immediate, accessible and fun. It stimulates us to take responsibility for our lives by seeing how our inner reality affects outer reality, and how we all have a unique ability to change our life conditions, regardless of gender, colour or class.

In this book, Khaleghl Quinn, the founder of Quindo (the way of the five qualities of Awareness, Confidence, Strength, Safety and Happiness), shows us how to investigate our own sense of reality, on both the physical and spiritual levels. We also learn how to recognize and build an inner strength while cultivating reserves of energy, so that we can shape our lives as we want them to be. By keeping 'fit' in this way, we can find personal fulfilment and a renewed sense of what we have to offer to the world.

Khaleghl Quinn was one of the first women to graduate from Tokyo's elite martial arts academy, the Kodokan, and is also one of the few female masters of Chi Kung. She is a psychology and philosophy Honours graduate and the author of several books on self-defence, including.Stand your Ground, which became an eight-part television series.

tai chi,

Chi Kung, Chinese for "energy mastery," is a physical discipline utilizing deliberate movement, slow breathing, mental concentration, and visualizations. This discipline is based on the same energy meridians used in Chinese acupuncture and is fully integrated into the traditional five-element wisdom of Chinese healing. A corporal art that consists of an intuitive understanding and respect of the yin and yang polarity of the body and its response to that same polarity in nature, chi kung can radically improve one's health and well-being.

By performing the exercises in this book for only half an hour each day, we can develop a subtle and sensitive perception of our environment and feed our own life energy from the magnetic resonance of the world around us. As our sensitivity to nature grows through these exercises we gain the ability to master these energies and utilize them in our own physical and spiritual self-transformation. With a concise yet comprehensive overview of chi kung's theoretical background and more than fifty exercises that are well within the capability of anyone, regardless of age or physical condition, Chi Kung is an ideal guide to improving health and awakening the slumbering potential within.

Dr. YVES REQUENA, an acupuncturist and phytotherapist, is the director of the European Institute of Chi Kung, an organization that trains people to teach this ancient discipline. He has published several books in France on chi kung. He lives in Paris.
